1 SIP 2 WORLDS
European drink x Indonesian flavors
Bar Garçon, an icon of Munich’s bar scene, is fully committed to using European ingredients. This clear focus has led to the creation of unique cocktails under the direction of Mario Messig and his team—drinks that reinterpret even the most classic recipes, often with surprising and thoughtful twists.
For the Cocktail X Festival, Bar Garçon entered into a special collaboration with Anne Linden, whose background as a bartender, creative director, and her longstanding connection to Indonesia bring a deep understanding of rare ingredients and extraordinary flavors. Together, they created a residency that merged the best of both worlds: European craftsmanship and Indonesian richness.
At the core of this collaboration was an exclusive cocktail menu, available from May 5th to May 10th, featuring nine distinctive creations. Each drink was made almost entirely with European ingredients—yet every cocktail included at least one carefully selected component from Indonesia. This intentional interplay resulted in a completely new sensory experience, uniting refined technique with vibrant cultural influences.
Anne Linden not only appeared as a guest bartender during the residency, but also took on the role of host—introducing guests to Indonesia’s fascinating ingredients, the products of Reidemeister & Ulrichs, and the creative ideas behind each drink. Her engaging presence helped turn the bar into a space of exchange and inspiration.
To further enrich the experience, two exclusive afternoon workshops were held for guests of the Cocktail X Festival, before the bar opened to the public. In these intimate sessions, Mario Messig and Anne Linden offered behind-the-scenes insights into the creative process of cocktail development, ending each workshop with a guided tasting featuring Reidemeister & Ulrichs’ spirits.
Anne’s involvement extended beyond the bar. She was also invited to speak at the Munich Bar Show, where she shared her perspective on how creativity and inspiration can drive lasting innovation in the bar industry—and how both can be nurtured in sustainable, meaningful ways.
To accompany the residency and amplify its reach, Anne also developed a comprehensive social media content concept tailored to the event. This included a thoughtfully curated mix of feed posts, stories, and reels, bringing the collaboration to life across digital platforms and reaching a broader audience. The content not only showcased the drinks and the people behind them, but also conveyed the cultural and creative depth of the project. (See below for a few sample feed posts.)
