The Balvenie Painting Of A Whisky
Anne was asked to create an aperitif cocktail for the launch event of the new Balvenie Twenty Five Whisky. The base spirit for the recipe should be the Balvenie 12 Double Wood Whisky. So Anne sat down, had a glas of this beautiful single malt scotch and tried to think of possible components for a recipe. First she thought about a more or less “typical“ aperitif: something dry, maybe something sour or even bubbly. But soon she decided that the Balvenie 12 Double Wood had already so many nuances, texture and layers that … nothing else was needed.
Anne decided to take the colorful flavors of the whisky as her canvas and used them to craft a fascinating cocktail that is like a painting.
The "Painting Of A Whisky" cocktail is an homage to the delicacy, the depth and the body of flavors of the Balvenie 12 Double Wood Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
A sweet pear wine hugs the fruity notes of the whisky and highlights the nuances of creamy honey and elegant vanilla. A dry muscatel vermouth emphasizes the oloroso sherry nuances and creates a hint of dry freshness. A sip of the french wine aperitif flatters the soft and mellow texture oft he whisky. A few drops of salt and orange flower water round the cocktail with a rich depth and fullness.
Anne created the "Painting Of A Whisky" cocktail, presented it at the launch event in Hamburg and shot the photos of the cocktail, as part of the @lindenandfabian creative team.
