The 1x1 of Social Sedia - A Workshop by Anne Linen
With over a decade of hands-on experience in social media and a deep understanding of the bar and spirits industry, Anne Linden is a strong advocate for bartenders and bars to fully embrace the creative and strategic potential of digital platforms.
In cooperation with Don Papa Rum and the German Bartenders Union (DBU), she developed and presented a workshop series in Berlin, Dresden, Hamburg, Cologne, Frankfurt, and Munich—designed to provide a practical and inspiring introduction to social media in a hospitality context.
The workshops offered a step-by-step breakdown of how to navigate and build a presence on platforms like Instagram: from understanding platform structures, content planning, and profile optimization to storytelling tools and engagement strategies tailored specifically for bartenders and bar teams.
Anne also shared concrete methods for building a personal or venue-based brand, producing high-quality content with simple tools like smartphones and Canva, and thinking creatively within the limitations of everyday bar life.
Beyond content creation, the workshop addressed the often-overlooked legal and ethical considerations of using social media professionally—offering attendees a well-rounded foundation for developing a strong, authentic, and effective online presence.
With a balance of theory and hands-on examples, this workshop series empowered bartenders to communicate their craft, story, and personality in new ways—and to take ownership of how their work is seen and shared in the digital space.
